MIDI Keyboards
MIDI keyboards are a sort of missing link in the modern world of computer-generated audio. Many amateur music and experts in the field of electronic music are the production of sounds and music from the inside of your computer. The sounds themselves are synthesized by the computer in a virtual environment, and it is the job of a MIDI controller or MIDI keyboard to control those sounds and make it playable as a traditional musical instrument.
It isa little more complicated than that and MIDI controller keyboards can come in many variants, which differ in price and features of different models. Piano keyboards will usually try to imitate the piano playing experience with sampled piano sounds and trusted hardware such as foot pedals. A MIDI keyboard controller on the other side contains either a hardware synthesizer on board in this case it is probably best used as a synthesizer, or it serves as an interface to aComputers, on the virtual synthesizer programs.
The models that do not contain their own synthesis engine, are much cheaper, but still complex pieces of equipment through the controller functions which they contain. Yamaha MIDI keyboard and Roland MIDI keyboard are two popular brands, but other companies have developed innovative models in recent years. The remote MIDI keyboard with Novation has become a standard in many circles, music, and they have many varieties of thisModel. Korg MIDI keyboard and MIDI Keyboards Casio Popular are also available with different features and designs.
A function that affects the price is whether the model has a weighted action keyboard, many cheap MIDI keyboard and not have some sort of plastic feel when they are played. More expensive MIDI keyboards have either a full or a semi-weighted action and feel much more strongly on the note. AftertouchAnother feature often omitted on cheap MIDI keyboard to find but most professional keyboard players, that this is a necessary function. The third effect on prices is simply the number and quality of the knobs and buttons for controlling the MIDI data together with the piano-style keys.
Most keyboards today are USB MIDI keyboard and a connection via the USB port to a host computer. Some will need a MIDI interface that must be installed on the computerBefore they work. MIDI keyboard controller in contact with the MIDI protocol and the impact and influence how the synth sound engine created if this engine in the MIDI keyboard or be located on a host computer with virtual instruments. There exist many different models and brands, it is best to do your homework before you buy, and probably better not to use the cheaper models, like you can grow out of them pretty quickly.
I'm an electronic musicManufacturer, runs a blog called keyboards. It is to explain, given the fundamentals of electronic keyboards and sound synthesis, and has a lot of reviews and comparisons of special keyboards and virtual instruments and effects.

Review by M. Fujii (NYC (NOT CONNECTICUT)) 2009-12-05 " This is the best deal in 88 weighted keyboards these days, hands down. Not sure why Casio thought it was a good idea to have a nice board but then put only one piece of crap stereo 1/8 inch jack output. I guess it's their way of saying "You haven't paid enough to actually use this thing for anythi... " Read more reviews

Review by Consumer (USA) 2009-09-27 " For those thinking about buying this keyboard- There is already an update to this product. The Casio PX-330 has more sounds, better action, more realistic samples, a lettered display instead of just numbers, and is the same price. From my experience the PX-330 is an excellent keyboard.... Review by S. vaneck (USA) 2008-04-02 " We bought this keyboard so my wife could teach my daughter to play piano. My wife likes the responsiveness of the keys and the sound. It does have MIDI input and output (at least ours does), but as is typical it didn't come with the wires/plugs. The responsiveness of the keys is adjustable as are... " Read more reviews
